As Covid-19 continues to impact our very way of life, and inevitably the outdoor season 2020. We are keeping one eye on the 'what happens next' for Tranent Bowling Club and IF there is to be play on the greens this season, in what capacity will that be ? 

 

The overwhelming speculation from those I have spoken to is that with so many fixtures to be arranged in an unknown condensed time frame that the competitive season may not happen for the 2020 season.... in any fashion whatsoever, With this in mind.... How would you like the season to be played out?

With international travel likely to be severely impacted for the remainder of the year, holidays cancelled and the nation grounded, I think that playing something on a home/away basis over successive weekends may be an option and gives everyone something to look forward to as well as the much craved days out !!

I had a small interaction with one of the West Lothian players on social media who reckoned his team mates and club would be on board with such an idea. There are still a number of massive unknowns to follow the global pandemic that is happening, but I feel that if we wait until we have the green light, that it might be too late to act on anything.

Please note this is not in anyway detracting from the severity of what is going on around us at the moment. It is merely an attempt to keep one eye on the future and maybe... just maybe give us something to look forward to
